At Clearbridge, he led the delivery of innovative solutions for clients across insurance, enterprise, telco, and more. Before Clearbridge, Sanjay consulted for leading insurance organizations, including Tokio Marine and Alea Insurance Group, and has an extensive background in enterprise consulting across the U.S., U.K., Canada, and UAE.

His unique combination of technical expertise and industry experience drives his passion for helping insurers tackle complexity, streamline operations, and unlock growth opportunities through innovative AI solutions.

Sam is a seasoned leader with over three decades of experience in the technology industry and more than 15 years in the Insurance and Reinsurance industry. He spent much of that time running his own US-based software firm where he personally architected and engineered several reinsurance systems. 

Previously, Sam spent 6 years as an SVP at Hamilton Re, where he helped start the company, served as their head of technology and led a team of engineers to design and build its technology platform. As the current CEO of Blue Island Technology, he continues to bring a wide range of technological skills and strategic vision to the market.

He currently works with a range of carriers, distributors, advisors, and startups, guiding them through strategic decisions and innovation adoption, particularly in navigating the impact of AI and digital transformation. Al-Mahmud is a results-oriented technical leader and engineer with extensive experience in architecting and delivering complex, high-performance software solutions across mobile, web, and enterprise domains. As a Software Development Manager and Sr. NodeJS Lead & Architect at Clearbridge Mobile, he was instrumental in building scalable REST APIs using serverless architectures and integrating diverse data streams.

Drawing on senior technical roles at GANZ and experience at RBC, Al-Mahmud has a proven track record in technical architecture, team leadership, and executing innovative solutions. This expertise is directly applied at Brisc to build the sophisticated agentic systems that drive transformative AI capabilities for the insurance industry.

Varun's background in developing backend infrastructure, integrating APIs, and working with data streams provides essential building blocks for creating intelligent systems.
